The 2024/2025 NPFL season will be an exciting one as coaches are staging a return back to their former clubs.

It started with Imams Amakpakabo who staged a return back to Abia Warriors, the club which he left after the 2022/2023 season. Imama signed a two year contract with the Umuahia Warriors.

Next was Bayelsa United  who unveiled Isah Ladan Bosso as their new head coach.

Bosso who handled the Bayelsa team in 2012/2013 season, but did not featured in the league with the team, before he crossed over to the then newly promoted Abia Warriors,  was unveiled by the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, outfit at the Samson Siasia Stadium, Yenagoa.

According to sources close to the restoration team, they  took the decision to employ an experienced tactician following the team’s struggles in the NPFL last season.

Bosso has managed a number of clubs in the NPFL, including Kano Pillars, Wikki Tourists, Gombe United, Niger Tornadoes,  Abia Warriors and El-Kanemi Warriors.

Coach Abdullahi Maikaba also made a return to now a Nigeria National League, NNL, outfit, Wikki Tourists.

  Abdullahi Maikaba  is rejoining the Bauchi Elephants for a second stint after previously managing the club in 2016, then in the NPFL.

The former Golden Eaglets assistant coach put pen to paper on a two-year contract.

The 59-year-old was in charge of Kano Pillars last season. The experienced tactician resigned from his position towards the end of the campaign.

Wikki Tourists missed out on promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) last season. His immediate task would be to help the Bauchi Elephants secure promotion to the NPFL.
