ECN Football Academy has emerged the 2024 edition of Peace Football Tournament held in Kwali Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.

The tournament which was organized by Baobab Institute for Life Development was held at Bako Primary School, Kwali Abuja between 22nd and 23rd November 2024.

The tournament was played on knockout out basis between eight teams in the locality. In the first match of the day, Kilankwa FC defeated Dabi United by a lone goal, with Leleyi FC falling to Revival FC by the same margin. ECN Academy outshined Shining Stars by three goals to one and Old Timers relying on penalties to triumph over Nobles stars, after a goalless full time. 

At semifinal stage, ECN Academy defeated Kilankwa FC by two goals to nil, while Old Timers defeated Revival FC 5:3 on penalties, after a full time scores of 2:2.

At the final stage, ECN whalloped the Old Timers by four goals to one to become the new champions of the tournament whichever is in its fourth year.

Gifts like boots, kit bags, medals, were given out to the winners. ECN goalkeeper Olowe Michael won the best goalkeeper of the tournament, while Abdulmuminu Ali Haruna also of ECN emerged as the highest goal scorer with four goals.

According to the Project Manager of the tournament Amina Aboje, Baobab initiative For Life Development is an organization with the vision of supporting and strengthen underprivileged and local communities 
through the power of education, health, and sports. The goal of the soccer tournament was to promote peace, unity, friendship, and collaboration among youths in Kwali Area Council.
