Oyo State Football Association, under the leadership of the Alakinyele of Akinyele, His Royal Higness, Oba (Dr) James Oluyemi Odeniran, in collaboration with Peculiar Ultimate, have picked Monday, 30th December, 2024 for the final of Governor Seyi Makinde (GSM) U-20 Football League.

The State F.A Boss and Peculiar Ultimate who evolved the league have vowed that the competition will be an annual event stressing that the initiative aligns with Governor Makinde’s vision of creating opportunities for youth development in the state.

Oba (Dr) Odeniran while commending Governor Seyi Makinde for creating the platform for the budding talents, saying that the youths have benefitted from GSM administration in no mean feat. According to the former Board Member of the NFF, the FIFA retired said he's extremely grateful to the Governor and Peculiar De Ultimate. He said:

“We’re incredibly proud to be associated with Governor Seyi Makinde for this laudable initiative. His outstanding performance in governance has inspired us to sponsor this league and a lot of talents have been discovered from this tournament ".

Oyo FA Secretary, Mr. Kehinde Ojelowo, has further affirmed that the prizes for the winners will be ₦500,000 while ₦300,000, will go to the Runner-up and third-place team will cash on ₦200,000 . The Additional awards will be given for Best Goalkeeper, Highest Goal Scorer, and Best Referee.

Third place match will go down between Muhibbat Football Academy, Iseyin and Ana Football Academy, Ibadan by 1pm , while the final will be between Rehoboth Football Academy, Ibadan and AFRAS Football Academy, Iseyin by 3pm at Lekan Salami Stadium, Adamasingba, Ibadan
