Following the ongoing 2023 African Games in Ghana,the media aide to the Honourable Minister of Sports , Kola Daniel has said the prime vision of team Nigeria is to claim first position. 

The erudite Journalist who was on the hot seat on popular administrators-filled sports platform, *Sports World* on Tuesday  gave insights into the preparations of team Nigeria and what the Ministry did to aid their target. 

On the preparation of the team for the tournament,he said:

"In terms of preparation for the African Games,it has been fantastic. It has been awesome to know that majority of the vendors who are actually taking care of the athletes in respective camps ranging from Abuja,Lagos,Gombe and other camps, it has been a camp where focus of welfare is being laid on the athletes."

He added:

"Before the commencement of the camp,the honourable Minister went to see the athletes in some of the camps and also to have an interactive session with the athletes which has been quite impressive"

Some of them are currently in Ghana as we speak,in table tennis we have gotten a bronze medal,and hopefully Haruna Quadri will get a silver or a gold medal by God's grace."

"Expect medals because about 358 athletes would be justling for medals for our dear country in 25 sports. We ended second position in the last edition and everyone is in the right frame of mind and every one is looking forward to podium performances to put smiles on the faces of sports enthusiasts in the country". The Ogbomoso born media expert concluded

Nigeria came second behind Egypt in 2019 in.Rabat, Morocco with 46 Gold Medals, 33 Silver and 48 Bronze totalling 127 Medals . The opening ceremony of 13th African Games is billed to take place from 8 to 23 of March,2024 in Accra, Kumasi and Cape Coast
