Abia Warriors pulled off a remarkable victory, defeating Heartland FC 1-0 despite playing with 10 men in a Matchday 30 NPFL clash at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri.

Despite Emmanuel Ogbuagu receiving his second yellow card in the 57th minute, Adejoh Ojonugwa stepped up with a brilliant free kick in the 80th minute to seal the win for the visitors.

In Ilorin, Akwa United secured their first back-to-back wins of the season with a 2-0 victory over 10-man Kwara United.

Goals from Osoba Kabir and Uche Sabastine kept the Promise Keepers’ survival hopes alive, extending their unbeaten streak to four games.

Elsewhere, Enyimba FC and Bayelsa United played out a 1-1 draw, while Rivers United snatched a late 1-0 win over Ikorodu City.

 

Katsina United thrashed El-Kanemi Warriors 3-0, and Shooting Stars bounced back to winning ways with a 3-1 victory over Niger Tornadoes.
