Wikki Tourists out Play Lobi

WIkki Tourists stand in Coach Adamu Abdullahi has thanked God for the support in enabling his team overcome the group B leaders Lobi Stars in their Matchday 8 encounter.

The gaffer who took charge after the exit of Kabiru Dogo said *We thank God for the Victory,because we played a good side that’s better than that of last season”.

Continuing he said “Our plan for next match is to go and get another point and that will give us more hope at stabilizing the team and fight for super six”, said Abdullahi.

He concluded by thanking teeming Supporters of Wikki Tourists fc for their unflinching support to the team.

It was match day eight group B of the Nigeria Premier League#22/23 season between Wikki Tourists F.C and Lobi Stars played at Abubakar Tafawa Balewa Stadium Bauchi.

Captain Idris Muhammed Guda of the Tourists who clebrate his birthday today open scores from the spot just five minutes into the game putting Wikki Tourists on the driving seat.

The jubilation was however short-lived when former player of Wikki Tourists Abba Umar who now trade his talent with the Makurdi giants equalised in the 34th minutes drawing level.

All efforts by the Kaura boys to change the result failed as the defence line of the visitors was somewhat solid.

Abdullahi Adamu’s tutored lads continued their pressure on the visitors till the 38th minutes when Muhammed Guda found the back of the net for the brace benefitting from a through pass by Shola Abdulraheem beating two defenders and send Lobi keeper to the wrong direction to put the scores at 2-1 and few minutes later all headed to the dressing room for half time break.

Half time substitutions were made by both teams though no more goals were recorded but clear scoring chances were created and missed.

At the exhaustion of the 3minutes added time Centre Referee signalled the end of match with Wikki Tourists winner by 2-1.
