The Team Manager of Wikki Tourists FC of Bauchi Yakubu Yankari has frowned at report that the team was stranded on their way to Uyo, for a Matchday two encounter against Dakkada FC
It was reported that the team was stranded on Monday when the coasta bus conveying the players develop fault along the way to Uyo for a date with Dakkada on Wednesday 18 January.
Reacting to the news, Yakubu Yankari said “It’s very unfortunate that such a story is making news around. We don’t no where it’s coming from. Our vehicle actually developed fault along the road, immediately the Chairman ordered that we charter two buses to convey the players to Uyo. We were not stranded at any point, because the incident happened nearer a military check point and the players were safe until the vehicles came. We were never stranded at any point. He concluded by saying that the entire team is in good spirit against Dakkada .
Wikki Tourists lost the home match against Niger Tornadoes by two goals to nil, Dakkada also lost their away match.
