UNIABUJA Recalls Expelled Students Leader 12 Years After

The Governing Council of the University of Abuja has recalled the expelled Student Union President of the School, Igwe Ude Uwanta.

Uwanta who was expelled in the school while in 400 level was recalled to come and write his second semester examination, and was advised to ensure he keeps to the matriculation oath he took in the school.

The letter dated 14 July 2019 and signed by the Deputy Registrar ( Academics) Yahya Mohammed, read ” I have been directed to convey to you that the University of Abuja Governing Council as at 82nd regular meeting held on Wednesday 27 March and Friday 29th March 2019, considered the reports of the Disciplinary Committee on expelled students, and after due diligence, magnanimously approved your recall to enable you complete your 400 level second semester examination and graduate accordingly”.

He was directed to report to his Head of Department for further directives.

Uwanta was expelled in 2007 for leading a protest on the lack of basic amenities in the school.
