Senegal’s participation is hinged on a complaint against Guinea fielding an unqualified player in Tanzania and won. They alleged that Guinean Ahmed Tidiane Keita and Aboubacar Conte forged their dates of birth. Guinea fielded the two players when they defeated Senegal 2-1 in group B.
In the other group C encounter, the 2001 World Champions and two times European champions, Les Bleuets (The Little Blues) of France are looking good to beat Korea after dismissing Chile 2-0 in the first round as they meet the Asian Tigers at 2100 hours.
Coach Patrik Gonfalone of France knows that the encounter with Korea will determine who tops the group. Korea had beaten Haiti 2-1 to be second in the group.
The Red Devils or Taegeuk Warrior of Korea coached by Kim Jung-Soo only made quarterfinal stages of the U17 world cup twice in 1987 and 2009 but were two times Asian champions in 1986 and 2002.
