Players Selected From The BrainBox Football League Will Form Anambra State Team ———-Iloenyosi

Chikelue Iloenyosi, Chairman of Anambra State Football Association, has revealed that one of the most significant benefits of the ongoing maiden edition of the BrainBox Football League is that aside falling in tandem with the grassroot policy of his FA administration, talents discovered therefrom would form the nucleus of an emerging State Team.

‘General’ Iloenyosi spoke on the sidelines of the opening ceremony of the BrainBox Football League at the weekend in Awka.

“It (BrainBox League) is a grassroot football (event). We want to start picking them (talents) to make sure we start from the NLO (Nationwide League One) or National League (NNL).

“It’s for the good of Anambra Football so that Anambra state will have a team. Its very, very important.

“So, we’re starting gradually. The most important thing is not just about the team, but more about grassroot football development, that’s where we are.

“So, that we’re here, making it,to happen once again in Anambra state”, the former Nigeria international said.

He expressed happiness over the emergence of a big sponsor like BrainBox Sports Foundation in response the calls for private and corporate investors to support his administration in its efforts to relaunch Anambra Football to the pinnacle of soccer in the country through grassroot football.

“I’m very happy today because we’ve a very big sponsor, BrainBox”, the FA boss responded sharp and pleasantly.

“You can see what’s going on here today. BrainBox Sports Foundation, in conjunction with the National Youth Council of Nigeria, bringing all the 21 local government areas together for this league.

“We’re happy, grassroot football is what we’re here to unveil; to make everybody happy, to make sure that grassroot football is already in place here in Anambra State.

“The importance of today’s event, the BrainBox League, cannot be over emphasised. Amongst other things, it ensures that all the youths in the street engaging in various vices—armed robbery, kidnapping and all that, football will engage them to make Anambra State come back again to the forefront of football in Nigeria”, Iloenyosi said.
