Plateau United General Manager Appeals for More Attention to The Club

General Manager of Nigeria Professional Football League side, Plateau United Football Club of Jos, Pius Henwan has appealed for more attention to the team.

Henwan stated this when the Plateau State House of Assembly Committee on Sports visited the Club for its oversight function.

The General Manager explained that football is time bound , as such deliberate efforts should be made to ensure timely releases of approved funds to the Club.

While welcoming the Committee led by its Chairman, Fom Gwottson, Henwan enumerated some of the challenges facing the team to include lack of a club house and office accommodation.

” Football is capital intensive as such prompt financial attention must be accorded the team to enable it achieve set objectives.

” Paucity of funds adversely affected the team which was one of the reasons why it failed to achieved its targets last season.

State Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Victor Lapang noted that the impact of covid-19 slowed down the activities of the Ministry that is capable of yielding revenue.

Chairman of the Plateau State House of Assembly Committee on Sports, Fom Gwottson disclosed that the purpose of the visit is to perform its oversight as as the constitution demands and challenged the team to seek alternative funding in order to keep the club afloat.

Gwottson commended the club under the leadership of its General Manager, Pius Henwan for laurels for the state and establishing it as a force to reckon with in the Nigerian top-flight.
