For a coach that ultimately strives to carve a niche for himself and a progressive stance in women football will certainly be wary of playing the same club each time he qualifies for a cup final of a tournament.

Coach Whyte Ogbonda of Confluence Queens of Lokoja will yet again face Rivers Angels in the final of the NWPL Super 4 taking place at the soccer temple Agege.
It is worrisome to note that Rivers Angels football club had defeated Whyte Ogbonda while he was in charge of Ibom Angels in the Aiteo cup final in 2018 and 2019 respectively, more worrisome is the fact that Rivers Angels was Ogbonda previous club where he assisted Coach Edwin Okon for 8 years before ascending as the head coach of Ibom Angels three seasons ago.

” I am not under pressure meeting Rivers Angels for a third time in the final of a tournament. The harder the opposition , the more effort my girls will put in.
Remember Confluence Queens is a different team that is well motivated and headed by an ex international who knows what it takes to run a club ” Ogbonda told the media.

He further explained that his target with Confluence Queens was the Aiteo cup and the Super 4. Having qualified for the Final of the Super 4 , it would be nice to finish up on a good note by winning it.

Confluence Queens qualified for the Super 4 for the first time in the history of the club , they defeated Adamawa Queens by 2 goals to nil in their first match on Friday.
Ogbonda has a third opportunity to show Edwin Okon of Rivers Angels that he has learnt from his past mistakes the two previous time he lost to him. Coach whyte must certainly look beyond the superlative performance of Super Falcons Chiamaka Nnadozie in between the sticks for the Angels.

In the other match on Day one , defending champion Bayelsa Queens lost via the lottery of penalties to Rivers Angels, Rivers Angels thereby consoled by their loss to Bayelsa Queens in the champion shield in Yenagoe earlier this year.
