
Hell was almost let loose at the Agege Township Stadium on Monday, when Leaders Kano Pillars tackled AITEO cup holders Rangers International of Enugu.
Pillars who needed a straight win to consolidate on their lead, shot into lead in the 56th Minutes when a beautifully taken free kick by Captain Rabiu Ali rested on the far angle of the net.
Rangers, however equalized in the 89th when a Rangers player was brought down in Pillars 18 meters box, and the referee did not hesitate to point to the penalty spot. A kick which Godwin Aguda brilliantly dispatched.
The call did not go down well with the Pillars fans, as they
started hurling sticks, bottles of water inside the pitch.
Then at the blast of the final whistle , Captain Rabiu Ali Immediately approached the Center Ref, shoving him aside, and fights broke out.
The Fans jumped into the pitch and started attacking the Referees, and the Pillars officials were not left out of the show of shame, as they joined in attacking the Referees, despite knowing that the match was live on satellite TV.
