NESG Joins Sport Nigeria as Co-Host of Sports Africa Investment Summit (SAIS) 2026
Sport Nigeria Ltd/GTE has announced the Nigerian Economic Summit Group (NESG) as an official co-host of the 2nd edition of the Sports Africa Investment Summit (SAIS) 2026, in a partnership that reinforces the growing role of sports as a catalyst for Nigeria’s and Africa’s economic transformation.
The NESG — widely regarded as Nigeria’s leading private-sector think tank — brings significant expertise in policy advocacy, sustainable development, and investment-driven reform. Its involvement is expected to elevate SAIS 2026 by shaping strategic conversations that position sports as a frontier for economic growth, job creation, and industrialization across the continent.
As part of its commitment, the NESG will mobilize experts and industry leaders from across its extensive network, curate a Special Session under its Tourism, Hospitality, Entertainment, Creatives, and Sports (THECCS) Policy Commission, and ensure high-level participation from its leadership throughout the summit’s plenary and breakout sessions. These engagements aim to integrate sports more deliberately into national and continental development frameworks, aligning with the NESG’s broader mission to promote inclusive, competitive, and sustainable economic growth.
The Sports Africa Investment Summit (SAIS) 2026 is scheduled to take place from February 10–11, 2026, at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island. With the theme “Africa’s Sports Future: Finance and Investment Strategies to Unlock Infrastructure and Trade Opportunities,” the summit will convene policymakers, investors, development institutions, and sports business leaders from across Africa and beyond.
The two-day event will feature keynote speeches, expert panels, and high-impact networking sessions designed to connect capital with opportunity while highlighting the pivotal role of sports in Africa’s next phase of economic development. Discussions will focus on how targeted investment in sports infrastructure, trade, and value-chain development can yield substantial social and economic returns.
Daily sessions for SAIS 2026 will commence at 9:00 a.m. at the Lagos Continental Hotel.
