Magnetic Resonance Imaging has dealt a heavy blow on the preparation of the National U. 17 preparing for the WAFU Zone B Qualifiers holding in Ghana in June. findings in Abuja revealed that over 75 percent of the the players selected by the handlers of the team in the last three weeks failed the test.

The selected players who were over 80 failed the test, thereby forcing the coaches to resume another rounds of screening to pick suitable players for the tournament which Nigeria will play Ghana and Togo.

The issue is giving the Coaches sleepless nights considering that the tournament is fast approaching. We further gathered the affected players are basically those that playing most of the warm up matches, especially those that beat a Kano state team by 9:0.

As at press time, no one in the Sunday Dankaro House was willing to confirm the story, as we were told that only the management of the Federation has the right to release such information. But we noticed in the team’s training on Thursday that the Coaches have decided to continue with the open screening which should have ended last weekend.

MRI is medical imaging technique used in radiology to form pictures of the anatomy and the physiological processes of the body. MRI scanners use strong magnetic fields , magnetic field gradients, and radio waves to generate images of the organs in the body. MRI does not involve X-rays or the use of ionizing and radiation which distinguishes it from CT and PET.
