Maureen Mmadu Kiddies Begin NEROS/ANFA Cup Title Defence Against Rising Stars

Holders, Maureen Mmadu Kiddies Camp, will begin their NEROS/Anambra FA Cup (women) title defence against new entrants, Rising Stars, Friday at the Awka City Stadium, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Four teams, MMKC, Awka Angels, Rising Stars and GP World, enrolled for this year’s edition.

2022 losing Finalists, Awka Angels, will tackle GP World in the other fixture.

Winners in the two games will move straight to the final and earn the bragging right to represent the state in the 2023 Federation Cup.

MMKC are top favourites in this one. Blessed with experience following their international trip to Morocco last year for a training tour, MMKC have their sights set on a second bite at the National Federation Cup.

But it would be suicidal underestimating the quality and potentials of the Rising Stars, bearing in mind that, there are no minnows again in football.

“This is challenge Cup and if one slips off, one gets punished”, Maureen Mmadu, a former Super Falcons midfielder and later Assistant Coach posited.

“It’s all about hardworking, focus and concentration and I’ve drummed it loud and clear into the players ears”, Mmadu stressed.
