The 9th edition of the ‘WALK FOR LIFE’ program was held in Onitsha, Anambra State on Saturday 6 July, 2019.
The Program which was under the Chairmanship of the Anambra State Sports Commissioner Chief Oli, was coordinated by Anambra State Sports Ambassador, Chief (Mrs) Mary Onyali (MFR). Onyali described the event as a great success, that was able to meet the concept of the initiators.
The former Africa Queen of the track said “this is the second edition in Onitsha, and everyone is enthusiastic this time around, unlike the first edition. The awareness and the sensitization is taking a great effect. This exercise is to make sure everyone understands the benefits of keeping fit. If you keep fit, you cut down your trips to the hospital, and you get more energy to do your daily activities. Because, most of us sit in office for hours, but with the exercise, you can go all out to achieve your daily goals. With this regular awareness and sensitization, people can imbibe it and live healthy and also watch what they eat”.
The former Team Nigeria Captain was full of appreciation to telecommunication giants MTN for supporting the program, while appealing to other corporate sponsors to embrace the program which is beneficial to the people and government of Anambra State.
