Former President of the Nigeria Football Federation and a frontline gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in the November 2019 elections in Kogi State, Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi has revealed that Kogi State has the potentials of excelling in the technological development of the country, if properly managed.
Lulu said if elected as the Governor of the State, that considering the importance of technology in the development of the societies across the world, that Kogi State will not be found wanting in the Science and Technology .
Quoting his words, Lulu said the ” I will remove the Science and Technology portfolio from the Ministry of Education to grant the former, strategic autonomy;
adopt computer technology application in the operations of ministries; encourage computer literacy in the state civil service; make computer education compulsory at all levels of education; partner with relevant technology – based companies, like Microsoft, towards implementing the state’s computerisation programme, which will cover schools and the civil service: provide periodic computer training and re – training to the Civil Servants in the state’s employ”.
Lulu who had a meritorious career in the Public service, said if the programmes are properly implemented, that the State would be the hub of technological development in country in a short while.
