
Kano Pillars have emerged champions of the maiden Prudent Energy Handball League.
They defeated De Defenders 31-29 in the final decided at the Rowe Park, Yaba, Lagos on Wednesday.
Pillars finished atop the league table with 38 points from 22 games, winning 19 matches and losing 3. They won the prize money of N1m for their victory.
Safety Shooters came 2nd with 36 points after beating Niger United. They won N750,000 while 3rd placed Lagos Seasiders ended with 34 points and N500,000.
In the women’s category, Safety Babes defeated defending champions Plateau Peacocks 31-29 .
The FRSC owned club finished 1st on the table with 32 points while Plateau Peacocks came 3rd with 29 points.
Edo Dynamos came second with 30 points after a 31-31 draw with Ghana Police.
Imo Grasshoppers finished 4th with 26 points as they defeated 5th placed Seasider Babes of Lagos 27-21. Seasiders finished with 18 points.
