There were strong indications that the leadership of the IMC has concluded plans to banish Abia Warriors from their Umuahia base after just one match in three seasons.
Exclusivenews.com.ng gathered that the IMC were not impressed with the standard of repairs carried out at the Umuahia Township Stadium which would warrant the team to be allowed to return home after playing two seasons in Okigwe. We were told that the Umuahia warriors are on the choice of choosing an alternative venue for their home matches starting from this weekend “nothing much has changed on the playing turf, though some repairs were carried out around the stadium, but the pitch is still not television friendly.
Also, we gathered that Elkanemi Warriors will also seek another alternative ground for their home matches. The Maiduguri stadium where they defeated Nasarawa United on Thursday, is also an aberration to the Premiership standard which the IMC is craving for.
