Ibom Angels Defeat Adamawa Queens In Nigeria Women Football League Match

Second half two goals in the 65th and 73rd minutes helped Ibom Angels FC to a second win in the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League Premiership 2022/2023 season.

Udeme Uko broke the deadlock for the Orange Ladies with a fine solo run, just before Adekemi Akintan scored the 2nd for the home side to ensure they went home with the maximum 3 points.

The head coach of Ibom Angels, Usen Ebuk, in an interview after the match attributed the Orange Ladies’ unfortunate situation during the season to lack of experience in his young side.

He further stated that 80% of the team are new to the apex league and playing premier league football for the first time, coupled with the abridged league, which according to him has not given him enough time to bring the players into the peak of the competition on time.

*”As you can see from the first round till now, their game keeps on improving on daily basis.”*

*” In today’s game they are the best so far, even the one we played at Lokoja, they played very well, we lost because of some errors. “*

*” When it comes to another match, the approach will be different and it will be the best, so I’m impressed the way they played. “*

In a post match interview with coach Vandi of Adamawa Queens FC, he blamed his defenders for lack of concerntration.

*”We played a fine game but sometimes goals will come with mistakes so our defenders made some mistakes. They scored good goals”*.

Ibom Angels FC’s next game will be against Abia Angels FC at Enyimba stadium in Aba.
