The Youth and Sports Minister, Mr Sunday Dare has given directive for the immediate recall of Sunday Adeleye, the Technical Director of Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) from the ongoing 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar.
In a press release made available to exclusivenews.com.ng by mrs Lere-Adams she said the Honourable Minister was constrained to take this swift decision against the AFN Technical Director due to avoidable massive and unacceptable technical and administrative lapses that brought much embarassment to the nation. He further directed that the Ministry will commence an immediate investigation as to what led to the ugly development at Doha.
To this end, the Honourable Minister for Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare, has directed that the AFN Technical Director hand over all matters relating to the ongoing IAFF World Athletics Championship in Doha, Qatar to the Secretary General and return to the country within 24 hours.
