Popular Nigeria music star David Adeleke who is well known as Davido has revealed to have signed a 20 million endorsement deal at age 17.
OBO disclosed in an interview that he was just 17 years old with only two songs when MTN telecommunication company decided to sign him.
According to him the endorsement was the beginning of his success story and musical career.
He also recalled how his father built him a studio and gave him some money which he used in recording his debut album after he sealed the endorsement.
In his words: “I remember when MTN, a telecommunication company, came, and they were like, they want to do endorsement, but then he (dad) was like, how much, and I said 20 million. I was 17. Nobody has seen that kind of money.
“Wow, this is from Music, and it’s off like two songs, of course. I’m like, ‘Daddy, see, we can do this’.
“He looking at it, he built me a studio and gave me some money to run my stuff and did my first album, and it came out really really successful.”
