Nazo Ekezie actress and filmmaker has given advice to upcoming actresses and actors on various things they need to consider before accepting a role interpreter.
According to her; “I consider myself a very talented actor. Aside from being talented, whenever I accept a movie role and say I am going to shoot a film, I take it on with everything I have got”.
Continuing, she said her commitment to the job is what makes her to excel in all the roles she plays “I am always willing to show up and do the work. I show concern as well. That is what does it for me.”
Though some stakeholders in the industry have said that taking movies to the cinemas had been abused with the quality of some of the films making it to the bug screens in recent times.
Ekezie noted that if a cinema accepted a movie, it meant it had met their standards. She said;
“I really don’t think it is abused, because if the cinema owners accept a movie, it is because they deemed it fit.
I am a filmmaker, not a cinema owner. Every cinema should have their own standards. If a cinema accepts a particular movie, that means it is good for them.”
Speaking on why she is choosy about the films she appears in, she said; “I have not even become choosy enough.
Nollywood directors and producers have the best scripts. Sometimes, even when one decides to go on vacation, there are some scripts one would see and want to do.
There are many talented people in this country. What happened was that I ventured more into production, so it took me off shooting all the time.”
