By Ikenna Nwokedi

Rangers International FC of Enugu on Sunday earned her second win of the season by seeing off newly promoted Doma United by a lone goal in a match played at the Awka City Stadium.

The goal came through Chidera Ezeh in the 41st minute as he converted from the spot to give the flying antelopes what would eventually be the winner after Saifullahi Yusuf of Doma United harked down Rangers’ Austin Onyemaechi who was goal bound inside the box.

The win moves Rangers to 7th on the log with 8 points as they prepare for a double header against newly promoted Bayelsa United FC for match day 8 and 9.

Reacting to the win, Administrative Secretary of the club, Barr. Ferdinand Ugwuarua expressed his delight with the performance of the boys and also said the team is shaping up after the early form in the season which was not too impressive.

“We are delighted that we got all the points today, you can see that the team is gradually shaping up as seen throughout the course of the game today. For now we will prepare effectively for the upcoming games and give it all as we won’t underate any of our opponents.

“We hope that our efforts would be crowned with victory, the victory today is for us all and the fans of Awka and Enugu as well. Kudos to the players, technical crew and backroom staff for their immense contributions for today’s results. We sincerely hope for more in the coming weeks,” Ugwuarua said.
