FG is Committed To Sustaining National Youth Games- Olusade Adesola

The Permanent Secretary Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development ,Olusade Adesola has reinstated Federal Government commitment towards sustaining the National Youth Games.

Olusade in his address at the opening ceremony said the National Youth Games is an effective platform for talent identification and development as well as a level playing ground for young athletes age 15 and below to achieve excellence in sports which the ministry would never toy with and this necessitated them to increase the number of sports at the games from 15 in 2013 to 34 in 2019

He went further by enjoining the youth to see this as a golden opportunity to achieve what the event is meant for as it is a once in a life time opportunity to be discovered.

The Permanent Secretary who was represented by Mrs Oluwatoyin Aluko,Head of Institutional sports,Grassroots Sports Development of the ministry charged the state and local government to do more in the area of grassroots sports development as this will help to diversify our economy and create employment opportunities for the youth,contribute in no little quota in promoting peace in Nigeria.
