FG Committed To Building Businesses Around Football -Dare

The Hon. Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Mr Sunday Dare has made a commitment to chart a new direction concerning football and building businesses around it. This will make NFF more vibrant and result oriented.

Mr Dare confirmed that reviving sports will boost youth empowerment. He said this during his maiden meeting with Board Members of the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) in Abuja.
The Minister enjoined NFF to synergize with the Ministry to change the narratives, so as to develop a better perception concerning the federation as football can grow other sports. He once again assured of government’s determination to develop sporting facilities across the country, and to upgrade at least four pitches into FIFA standard football pitches that the country can boast of between now and January 2020..

The meeting which was at the instance of the Hon. Minister interfaced with Board of the NFF towards achieving smooth football administration in the country as well as chart a more dynamic strategy.
Following extensive deliberations, the meeting which was attended by all fifteen ( 15 ) Board Members of the NFF resolved that there should be a commitment;
i. to chart a new direction.
ii. to reposition domestic league.
iii. to reposition youth development in sports.
iv. to work with the ministry towards early preparations for participation in tournaments and championship.
v. to reach out to all factions with a view to having an amicable resolution of all problems.
vi. to make sure that we develop our sporting facilities particularly football pitches and other stadia infrastructure.
vii. to improve the positive perception of football administration in Nigeria.
viii. to ensure the NFF Bill now with the NASS is transmitted for assent by Mr. President speedily, and
ix. to ensure efficient management of resources and deepening private investment in sports development.
