FCT Police DCP Administration, Okediji Now CP

The Deputy Commissioner of Police, (DCP) Administration, Mr. Okediji Felix Olusola has been promoted to the rank of Commissioner of Police along with thirty-nine other officers in his grade and may be moved out of his office as soon as the new postings are announced by the Inspector- General of Police.
The Public relations Officer of the Police Service Commission (PSC), Mr. Ikechukwu Ani announced his promotion on Sunday after the Commission held crucial meetings in Abuja.
Mr. Okediji who had served as DCP in Nasarawa State was in charge of the recruitment of Constables for the Police in Calabar this year, and had served as Area Commander (ACP) in Kwara and Kogi States before his FCT positing. He got into the DCP Inspectorate cadre as Officer of Headquarter Training and Development Department.
He was of the famous Millennium Graduating set of lawyers of the Law School, Bwari in 2000 after finishing law at the University of Ibadan in 1999. He read English at the Obafemi Awolowo University and graduated in 1985.
Mr. Okediji had served and studied in many foreign positions including Kosovo in 2006; Stabilization of Police Units Senior Management Course in Italy and at the famous Kofi Anan Centre in Accra, Ghana.
It was difficult reaching Mr. Olusola Okediji on Monday morning but his ecstatic son; Opeyemi Okediji said his father’s lines were jammed by several people who desire to congratulate his father on his promotion.
His colleagues at the Ibadan Christ Apostolic Grammar School, Aperin Oniyere had been posting several congratulatory messages on their class platform which was monitored from Abuja. Fondly called Oke bobo among his colleagues, his mate who lives in America, Chief Ayo Akangbe disclosed that Okediji heard of his promotion while coming out from Church on Sunday afternoon and stated that their set has been praying for his long overdue promotion.
The class representative of Olusola Okediji at the Grammar School, Chief Olusegun Fatoki popularly called ‘Alakoso General’ told this reporter in a happy tone that Okediji is “a very honest, God fearing, deeply religious and forthright person who cherishes his salvation above the acceptance of man or before his job’’.
