Enugu State House Of Assembly Commends Rangers Management, Charges To Do More


Members of Enugu state House of Assembly’ committee on Youth & Sports
ably led by its chairman, Honorable Ukwu Chinedu have commended the
management of seven-time Nigeria league champions, Rangers
International F.C anchored by Prince Davidson Owumi for their
achievements since taking over at the club while challenging them to
win more trophies.

The legislators who were on an over-sight visit to the corporation,
Friday, had Hon. Ibekaku Onoh, Hillary Ugwu, Johnson Chukwuobasi and
secretary of the committee, Barrister Fabian Nwigbo said after
interacting with the management team that the management had done well
especially in the area of youth development through the Junior Rangers


Leader of the legislators, Honorable Ukwu while reacting to the
opening remarks of the General Manager of Rangers, Prince Davidson
Owumi, said that he had no doubt that the governor of the state, Rt.
Hon. Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi made the right choice in appointing the former
NPL boss to head the club with the level of successes recorded since
his appointment but challenged the management to aim higher by winning
more trophies for the teaming followers of the club.

“No doubt, I must say that our governor made the right choice in the
appointment of the management team of Rangers. Our duty as members of
this committee is to interface with you and find out areas of need so
as to tackle it for you to continue making the millions of followers
of Rangers International F.C happy. The Junior Rangers program is a
welcome one for the youths of the state. However, I must say that it
is time for a back-to-back win of the league trophy,” stated the
youthful law maker.

Contributing, other members of the committee in their various
submissions described the achievements recorded by the management team
of Rangers in the short period it has served as phenomenal calling on
them to keep the flag flying.

In his welcome address, general manager of Rangers, Davidson Owumi
congratulated the legislators on their victories at the poll and
subsequent inauguration while appealing to the committee members to do
the needful in helping Rangers attain its desired heights in football
business both within and outside the country while promising to go a
step further in this season’ Aiteo, NPFL and CAF Confederation cup
competitions it will be participating in.
