The Federal Ministry of Youth and Sports Development has begun preparation for the 20th edition of the National Sports Festival (NSF) tagged “Edo 2020”. The sporting fiesta will attract participants from the 36 states of the Federation, and the Federal Capital Territory. He games shall be hosted in Benin City, the Edo state capital and will feature various sporting events. To ensure the successful and timely organization of the events and in line with the approved timetable of the activities, the 1st Joint Technical Meeting which is expected to discuss all technical issues relating to the festival, as well as inspection of the venues and facilities earmarked for the games is scheduled for July 8-11, 2019 in the ancient city of Benin. To meet the expectations of Nigerians during the “Edo 2020” Games, the Permanent Secretary,Mr Olusade Adesola disclosed that Eight (8) subcommittees of the MOC had been inaugurated with carefully chosen members based on relevant experience, exposure, competence and commitment to enhance a successful delivery of this assignment. With barely few months to the games, and to ensure that plans are being ran smoothly, the joint technical meeting becomes necessary. All members of the Main Organizing Committee (MOC) for the Festival alongside all members of the Local Organizing Committee in Benin are expected to attend the meeting.
