The Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Hon. Sunday Dare will in fait accompli inaugurate a Committee on the Participation of the Athletics Federation of Nigeria at the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha, Qatar, to forestall a reoccurrence of the challenges that trail the participation of Team Nigeria athletes resulting to their dismal performance.
The inauguration, which is scheduled to hold tommorow, Monday 2pm at the Media Centre Package ‘ A’, MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, will set in motion the terms of reference for the Committee, chiefly amongst which will be to investigate the immediate and remote causes of what led to the unimpressive performance of Team Nigeria at Doha.
It would be recalled that Hon. Dare directed the recall of Mr Sunday Adeleye, Technical Director of Athletics Federation of Nigeria from the World Athletics Championships on the heels of avoidable massive and and unacceptable technical and administrative lapses which brought embarrassment to the nation.
