The body of the Director of Finance of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr. Tony Okecheme whch was washed away by a devastating flood at Galadinma, Abuja on Wednesday morning was found Sunday afternoon some few meters from Lugbe on the way to the Airport.
Officials of and the FCT Branch of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) resumed the search on Sunday morning with local divers tracing the bank of the stream until about 1230 hours when his body was located at a farm along the stream not far from a famous super store before Lugbe.

His body was immediately taken to the Asokoro General Hospital for post mortem and his family notified. It was weeping galore as his family arrived at the hospital giving security agents hectic time to control sympathizers who wept sore.
The Director General of NEMA who led the search team was full of gratitude to the local divers for their assistance while the Secretary of the Federal Capital Territory who joined NEMA at Asokoro Hospital counseled the family to take heart and promised a befitting burial for the deceased.
Members of the family who had been grieving since Mr. Okecheme disappeared were too sorrowful to speak.
It will be recalled that the FCT Director of Finance, Mr. Tony Okecheme whose official vehicle was taken away by the flood with him and his driver in their rescue operation was being looked for since Wednesday. The Directors’ driver was saved immediately by local divers but the Director is yet to be located since Wednesday.
On the morning of his disappearance through the flood, Mr. Okecheme was said to have given his daughter, forty thousand Naira cash for her academic project.
The Galadinma/Apo/Lokogoma flood is said to be a perennial occurrence defying solution by the FCT that comes with collateral disaster.
