21 members of the National Youth Service Corps currently serving in Odi Kingdom, Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government, Bayelsa State; carried out an impressive project on Thursday, 18th July 2019 at Eberezi compound, the home of one Mr Tarkwa Gagariga who is struck by partial stroke.
The corps members, under Charity/Medical Sub CDS group embarked on this humanitarian project after combing through their host community in search of the less privileged.
According to Mr. Tarkwa, aged 77, his wife left unannounced to an unknown destination while his six children seldom pay visit.
His younger brother’s wife has been the one occasionally taking care of him.
However, it was not an easy task as the corps members involved narrated how unhealthy and filthy his room was.
They evacuated his belongings from his room and a thorough cleanup was done up to the point of bathing and cutting his finger nails. Food items and new cloths were given to him. He later blessed and thanked the corps members for paying him a visit that will last a lifetime.
