Aruna Quadri Makes History,Becomes First African to Play in WTTF Quarter Finals

Nigeria’s Aruna Quadri has become the first African to make it to the quarter final of world table tennis championship holding at George R. Brown Convention Center, Houston, Texas.

In the early hours of this morning, Quadri Aruna continued in winning ways at the World Table Tennis Championships, defeating Kristian KARLSON in a seven games thriller 4-3 (11-9, 5-11, 13-11, 5-11, 6-11, 11-8, 11-6) to clinch a QFs spot, a first for Africa.

By virtue of this victory,Quadri will play Truls Moregard of Sweden in the quarter final.

19 year old Moregard,currently ranked 77 in the world defeated LIM Jonghoon of Korea to a date with Quadri.
