APC Party Politics: Lawan Wants Solution To Internal Crisis ,Insists On Collective Interest

President of the Senate, Ahmed Lawan has called on the National Working Committee of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to immediately put in place workable dispute mechanism to quickly and effectively resolve many of the internal crisis in the party.

Lawan stated this when he met with the thirty-six State Chairmen of All Progressives Congress in Abuja on Monday.

The President of the Senate said it has become imperative for APC to come up “a better dispute mechanism” to quickly address conflicts of interest as they arise; stressing that APC cannot afford any cracks on its walls at this time when it needed to consolidate on its election victory across the country.

Reacting to comments on political office holders putting their personal interest above collective interest once they have been elected; Lawan promised that the Senate under his watch will curtail any selfish interest and never allow it to override collective interest.

He said there’ll always be crisis where individual interests are allowed to supercede the overall interest of the people.

He added that such situation makes it difficult to achieve peace.

While acknowledging the contribution of the State Party Chairmen to APC election victory at all levels, Lawan said the Senate will work in a bipartisan manner and closely with the executive arm of government to assist President Muhammadu Buhari achieve his next level agenda.

Speaking earlier, Chairman, Forum of APC State Chairmen, Aliyu
Buka Dalori from Borno State pledged to support the President of Senate asking him not to hesitate to come to them if he has issues with any APC senator; an offer Lawan politely turned down saying he has great confidence and respect for the present crop of lawmakers in the Senate.
