Nigeria forward, Anam Imo scored her fifth goal of the 2023 Swedish Dammalsvenskan season as Pitea secured a 2-0 win against Djurgarden on Tuesday.
Djurgarden had won one of its last five games heading into the home encounter, while Pitea IF, on its part came into the tie on the back of an imperious form, having won four of its last five games.
Imo continued from where she left off against Upsala as she scored the first goal of the game for Stellan Karlsson’s side in the 14th minute.
The woes of the hosts was further compounded when Matilda Plan unfortunately put the ball into her net to gift the visitors’ the second in the 53rd minute, leaving Magnus Pålsson’s side with a fourth loss in the last six games.
Imo played full 90 minutes for Pitea as she equaled her personal record of five goals in the league after seven games.
Her compatriot, Faith Michael also played the full 90 minutes for Pitea.
Pitea moved to the third position on the Swedish Dammalsvenskan table with 17 points after seven games.
The team will next meet IFK Norrköping on Thursday, May 4 in another league encounter.
