Oluchi Tobex Tobe-Chukwu.

The Chairman of Abia Angels football club Roland Gbaruko was certainly irritated as he lamented the rationale why his team played their against Ibom Angels under protest, and wondered why match officials do overlook formal procedures before a match.
The unguarded emotions arose after Abia Angels lost to Ibom Angels by 1 goal to 2 in Abakaliki in the Aiteo round of 16.
“Desperation to win matches is not a good virtue as Abia Angels played under protest.
Why should Glory Ogbonna an ibom Angels player present a phone in place of a players license” he lamented.

He further explained that the said player could not present a license and had the effrontery to show a pic of a blurred license via a phone.

Ayo Samuel the captain of Abia Angels when reached was eager to be enlightened ” please can a phone take the place of a players license she inquired? Infact the said phone license was not even stamped. I had to inform the match commissioner and my team coordinator when I observed Glory Ogbonna’ license was not presented”

A reliable source from the Ibom Angels team waved off the fear and claimed that Glory Ogbonna was duly registered for the competition but was a late registration hence her license was sent via whatsap by Mr Adesanya from the NFF.

Mr Roland Gbaruko also cemented his frustrations by backing it with actions
” I have made arrangement for the financial aspect of the protest to be met this morning, we await the organisers verdict” he concluded.
