AFRICA GAMES: Flying Eagles Record First Win, Beat South Africa 2-1

THE FLYING EAGLES OF NIGERIA RECORDED THEIR FIRST WIN AT ONGOING AFRICAN GAMES IN RABAT,MOROCCO

Ahmad Ghali scored his second goal in as many matches as Flying Eagles BEAT South Africa  2-1

The Nigeria U20s now have four points from two matches and top Group A after they were forced to a 1-1 draw by Burkina Faso in their opening match last weekend.

It was a sweet revenge for coach Paul Aigbogun’s team who were denied third-place at this year’s U20 AFCON in Niger by the South Africans.

Speedster Collins Sor gave the wasteful Nigerian team the lead in the first half after he was set up by Saed Jubril.

However, South Africa drew level soon after the restart.

And then it was left to Ghali to be the match winner in the 78th minute, when he headed home a cross by skipper Abubakar Ibrahim Babawo.

Nigeria’s final group game will be against hosts Morocco on Friday.
