Egyptian legend Diaa Salah has expressed deep respect and honor to have played against the Nigerian legend and Head Coach of Taifa stars of Tanzania, Emmanuel Amuneke.
Speaking to exclusiveness.com.ng in Alexandria, Egypt where he reunited with the Nigerian football legend, the Egyptian football legend Diaa Salah said, “I am one of the luckiest persons to have played against an African legend like Emmanuel Amuneke during my playing days”.
Describing the Taifa Stars Coach, he said, “Emmanuel Amuneke is one of the exceptional players I have ever met and also played against in the field of play while active”.
“I could recall our match against Zamalek Fc, funny enough I was lucky to have scored the first goal in that match and we were leading 1 nil but unfortunately we lost at the end 4 goals to 2. His excellent skills and tactics is something you cannot help but acknowledge as a good football lover” he added.
Further eulogising the Nigerian football legend, he said Emmanuel Amuneke was among the best African players to have plied their trades in the Egyptian League and was well known by all young stars then.
“Amuneke’s club Zamalek Fc was one of the best teams back then with well known African players in the team, their rich football pedigree made Zamalek team the best at that time” He concluded.
Amuneke is hoping to continue the rebuilding process he has started in Tanzania and hopefully leads them to world cup
