Abia warriors Football Club of Umuahia on Monday unveils 12 new players that will join the team for the 2019/2020 NPFL season.
The players which we gathered were picked while the league was on last season included Charles Tambe (Goalkeeper, Lobi Stars) , Phillip Auta (Striker, Yobe Desert Stars), Zinte Udeh (Striker, El’kanemi warriors), Guy KEUMIAN (Striker, Asec MIMOSAS), Promise James (Defender, FC Ifeanyi Ubah), Adekunle Adeleke (Go Round, Defender), Nonso Paul (Midfielder, Udens of Cotonou, Benin Republic), James Odeh (Midfielder, Yobe stars), Gabriel Innocent (Defender, El’kanemi warriors), Oghenetega (Midfielder, FC Ifeanyiubah), Ugwuka Emmanuel (Striker,FC Ifeanyi Ubah) and Ikedinachi Nwakanama (Striker, Sunshine stars). The team also unveiled the Head Coach Emmanuel Deutsche and Chief Coach Willy Dubem. It would be recalled that Emmanuel Deutsche was called to rescue the team last season when it was in a difficult situation, while Coach Willy Dubem was in charge of Go Round FC
The unveiling which was handled by the Club’s Sporting Director, Patrick Ngwaogu, on behalf of the Chairman Pastor Emeka Inyama has been described as a pace setter among the NPFL clubs in country, as it can be compared with what is attained elsewhere in World. the decision to engage the players is specifically need base.
Ngwaogu said that the Umuahia Warriors is ready to make difference in Nigeria football this season, as the Management led by Pastor Emeka Inyama is poised to make the difference in the new football season.
He said that all the players underwent comprehensive medical test at the Federal Medical Center Umuahia before they were engaged by the club.
