The thrills and frills of the 2023 NEROS/Anambra FA Cup continues today at Rojenny Stadium, Oba, where rampant and free scoring Ozalla FC will be aiming for EmmyKings scalps for a place in the semi finals, Exclusivenews.com.ng reports.
Ozalla have continued to announce their presence in all that’s called competitive football in the state and would be making their first semi final appearance in the lucrative NEROS/Anambra FA Cup if they overcome EmmyKings in today’s break or bend tie.
The NLO2 bound side are not unaware of EmmyKings strenght in the Cup race, hence Coach Osueke will drive it into his players heads to leave no stone unturned and ensure they never switched off at any point in the game.
For them, they are on the crest of history of reaching the semi final for the first time after making it to the quarter many times previously.
“I know it will be a tough match but we’ll give it our best”, Coach Osueke said.
Kingsley Uduh, Proprietor of EmmyKings, is always confident of his team, stressing that they are in the mix for real.
Ozalla defeated Hopeland 5-1 to reach this stage while EmmyKings overcame Dominion 4-2 on penalty kicks after a 1-1 regulation time scoreline to set up a quarter final clash with Ozalla.
In the other quarter final fixture, Peace FC will square up against Ochonma FC at the Awka City Stadium.
Meanwhile, holders, Edel FC (formerly Nnewi Utd) and Global FC have sealed their places in the semi finals of the 2023 NEROS/Anambra FA Cup competition.
Chukwukezie Umenwa scored a second half brace as Global came from behind to beat De-Wilson 2-1 in their quarter final clash Tuesday in Awka.
Ironically, it was Umenwa whose untamed acrobatic kick while defending a corner in the 45th minute that gifted De-Wilson a penalty from which they took a first half lead.
In Nanka, Edel FC were 2-1 up before their clash against Gallaxy was stalemate.
