“We are Monitoring Our Players”… Abia Warriors Sporting Director

Abia Warriors Sporting Director Patrick Ngwaogu has declared that the club is monitoring it’s players in readiness to return to the field of play any time the League Management Company(LMC) call for the restart of the suspended 2019/2020 football season.

Ngwaogu, who made this known in Abuja, said the management of the Umuahia warriors are in constant touch with the players, ensuring that they adhere strictly to their weekly training programmes, and observe all precautionary measures against the COVID 19.

The Sporting Director emphasised that the players safety and health is Paramount to the club as every step is been taken to ensure that they are Coronavirus free when they return to camp.

Ngwaogu said the management has maintained its obligations of paying the players their salaries and allowances pending when he league would resume.

” All what we want them to do is to keep safe and observe all the precautionary safety measures as outlined by the Federal Ministry of Health and National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).

” Also the technical crew send the players weekly training programmes to keep them in shape and fit pending when the league will restart.

” it will interest you to know that our players and officials receive their full salary every month despite the lockdown and suspension of football activities in the country.

“Our target is to make the club (Abia Warriors ) the best in the country by putting solid structures in place and increase the fans base. We are working towards self sustainability and less dependent on the state government.

“I can honestly tell you that Abia Warriors Football Club is now a house whole name in Nigeria football”.

Ngwaogu concluded that the club is working hard to ensure that they obtain a ticket to represent Nigeria at the CAF inter- club competitions soonest.
