Former Nigerian Professional Football League NPFL, title winner and current coach of Akwa United FC of Uyo, has revealed how helpful, instrumental and cooperative his wife has been to his career, both as a footballer and now, a coach, exclusivenews.com.ng reports.

Boboye, who got married while playing professional football in Germany has enjoyed two decades of marital bliss already, and the former Fortuna Düsseldorf FC player is recounting the gains of being married to a God-fearing and industrious woman.

The Rivers State born father of two, who spoke exclusively from his base in Port Harcourt on his 20th Wedding Anniversary, stated that while still playing football as a professional, the wife of his youth stood like a rock behind him, adding that, as his best friend, she has been patient, supportive and highly understanding.

“My wife has played a very wonderful and exceptional role in my career both as player, and as a coach, said Boboye who narrowly missed out on the Atlanta ’96 Olympics due to injury.

“She is my best friend; she has shown keen interest in whatever I’m doing .

Patience and understanding are some of her greatest qualities.

It would be recalled that the former Abia Warriors, Sunshine Stars and Plateau United manager has worked in both the northern and southern parts of the country, and he insists that only an understanding wife would show support under such circumstances, hence, the decision to have her as my wife has never been regretted.

“I understand that no marriage is a bed of roses, but I can confidently say I have no regrets whatsoever, over my decision to take her as my God-ordained wife, he said.

“I celebrate her today as always, on the occasion of our 20 years Wedding Anniversary, and it is my prayer that the Almighty God continues to bless our union, concluded Boboye.
